Story Of Lajoya

La Joya de la Jungla, the Jewel of the Jungle, is a rustic Treetop Retreat. Set high on a hill, wafted by gentle sea breezes, and overlooking the Caribbean amid lush green forests, and elegant palms, La Joya is truly a get away from the frenetic pace of life today. It is also a welcome change from the increasingly commercialized atmosphere of many other vacation destinations.

Though private and secluded, La Joya is in close proximity to a number of the area’s most interesting places and activities.

A fifteen minute walk along the Rio Cano Negro brings our visitors out on to the world famous beaches of Costa Rica.
After frolicking in the warm, turquoise waters of the sea, guests can bathe and rinse themselves in the cool, clean waters of the river.
Calm blue waters by coral reefs, palm lined white sand beaches, mangroves and lush green coastal jungles bursting with life await you.
South of La Joya, lies the fishing village of Manzanillo (man zan eeo). Walking there affords one an opportunity to view and savor some of the most beautiful and interesting scenery in all of Central America.
Or, you may choose to get there by horse, bicycle or car, but either way make sure you stop at Punta Uva. There you can rent a kayak or snorkel around the cliffs.
